Need to deposit cash or a cheque? No sweat. You can simply deposit cash or cheques at any Australia Post outlet with the Bank@Post sign – there are over 3,500 of them, Australia-wide.

*A note from ME: Bank@Post isn’t currently available for accounts managed on the ME Go app, this means you won’t be able to deposit cash or cheques right now. But it soon will be! In the meantime, depositing money into your SpendME account is easy with an online transfer.

How to deposit a cheque with Bank@Post.

Go to your nearest Australia Post Office that supports Bank@Post with the following:

  • Your SpendME Account, Everyday Transaction Account, InterestME Savings Account or Ultimate Offset Account debit card.
  • A cheque written in your name only – as cheques in joint names can’t be accepted.

Just present your cheque, insert your debit card and key in your PIN – your funds will be deposited and can take ten business days to clear. This does not include the day the cheque is deposited.

If you’ve received a cheque in joint names, you could ask the payer to reissue the cheque in your name only, or to send you the funds via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) instead.

Depositing funds via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).

Funds can be deposited into your account using EFT. Just share your account name, BSB and account number so you can be paid electronically – this can take up to three business days to clear.
