ME has today been named ‘Bank of the Year – Savings’ by Australia’s biggest financial comparison site Canstar, in recognition of the combined value of its term deposits and savings accounts.
This is the first time ME has won the award. According to Canstar, ME stood out because of the flexibility of its Online Savings Account, which does not penalise customers for making withdrawals, and competitive term deposit rates.
Canstar Group Manager, Research and Ratings, Mitch Watson said, “This award recognises the outstanding value ME provides to its customers through consistently competitive interest rates offered across its range of savings accounts along with the associated functionality and flexibility that makes banking easier for its customers.”
Mr Watson added, “In the current low interest rate environment, seeking a bank that has a competitive offer across a range deposit accounts enables Australians to adjust their cash savings to where the highest returns may be.”
ME continues to offer competitive rate across its term deposits. ME also has an attractive bonus savings rate on its Online Savings Account that is easy to qualify for – customers only need to make four tap-and-go purchases per month on a linked debit card.
