ME has launched ‘instant card issuance’ for customers during a period when postal delays have
increased due to the impact of COVID-19.

The service allows customers to digitally access their new debit card the instant it’s issued, instead of
having to wait for their physical card to arrive by mail.

New transaction account customers can push their new debit card details to Apple Pay or Google Pay
from the ME banking app as soon as their account is opened, while existing customers can replace
damaged, lost or stolen debit and credit cards immediately.

ME Group Executive Customer Banking, Craig Ralston, said the new digital service is incredibly
convenient considering customers previously waited days to receive a physical card by mail.
“Everyone loves a bit of instant gratification, which is why we expect instant card issuance to be such
a hit.

“Simplifying customer services is a priority for ME and we expect cardholders will love the
convenience.

“We’re also pleased to be introducing it at a time when postal congestion has understandably
increased because of COVID-19, slowing down card delivery.”

Only a handful of banks are currently providing the service in Australia.
