We are excited to share some news about ME, and our future.

It’s no longer going to be just ME, ME, ME – it’s going to be more of a WE - because the shareholders of ME have agreed to accept a proposal from Bank of Queensland (BOQ), which will see ME join their family of brands.

This news may come as a bit of a surprise but if you think about both ME and BOQ, you’ll see it makes a lot of sense.

To start with, we’re both home-grown Australian banks who are willing to go the extra mile for our customers. We’re both absolutely committed to being a genuine alternative to the Big Banks. Plus, we both really value our people, and know that at the end of the day, it’s them that makes all the difference to you.

And for you we believe this change will mean really positive things in the future. Being part of a wider network with deeper resources means we can continue to invest in making our services, technology, and products even better for you.

What does this mean for you?

Day to day, you won’t notice a change. We’ll still be operating as ME, we’ll still look and sound like ME, with the same great Australian-based customer service team, and we’ll still offer the same simple, straightforward products and services.

There will be no change to the way you interact with us, and no changes to any of your arrangements or accounts, nor your relationship with ME Bank.

Importantly, this will not affect the security of your savings, which will remain just as safe and covered by the deposit guarantee from the Australian Government.

When will this happen?

We expect this change to be finalised by August this year. But hopefully you won’t even notice. It’s just business as usual for ME and for you.
