If you suspect you've been scammed, contact ME immediately before taking any further action. This means our Fraud and Scams team can act quickly to secure your accounts and guide you through the next steps.

A fraud specialist will confirm the details of your report to fully understand the situation and may block access to your accounts to stop criminal activity.

Once the investigation is complete, we’ll notify you of the outcome via SMS and letter.

Device compromised?

To safeguard your accounts, we may ask you to have your device professionally cleaned by a reputable technician if malware or viruses are suspected. This step may involve a cost but is essential to prevent further risks.

Supporting and guiding you through the process. Fraud and scam investigations usually take 21–45 days, though complex cases may require more time. We’ll keep you updated via SMS or letter throughout the process. If you haven’t heard from us, rest assured we’re working hard on your case.

Did you receive an email or text that you don’t recognise? 

ME will not: 
  • Call and ask you to provide your internet banking details or any one-time codes over the phone.
  • Ask for your PIN or password.
  • Request you to transfer any amount of money from your account into another.
