Temporarily locking a card
If you’ve misplaced your card (pro tip: check your jacket pockets) you can temporarily lock it until it turns up again. You can do this yourself in seconds using the classic ME Bank app, ME Go app or internet banking, and unlocking it is just as easy.

ME Go app.
Temporarily locking your card:
- Log in to the app.
- Tap the
icon in the bottom menu.
- Tap ‘Manage cards’ in the menu.
- Select the account you’d like to lock the card for.
- Tap ‘Lock card temporarily’.
You can unlock it instantly by toggling the switch to ‘off’.

Temporarily locking your card:
- Log in to the app.
- Tap the ‘Cards’ symbol on the bottom menu bar.
- Swipe to select which card you’d like to lock.
- Toggle the ‘Lock’ button to ‘on’.
Unlocking your card:
- Tap the ‘Cards’ symbol on the bottom menu bar.
- Swipe to select which card you’d like to lock.
- Toggle the ‘Lock’ button to ‘off’.

Internet banking.
Temporarily locking your card:
- Log in to internet banking.
- Click ‘Cards’ in the top menu, and select ‘Lock or replace your card’
- Select the relevant card and choose the option to lock your card
- Select ‘Continue’ and then ‘confirm’
Unlocking your card:
- Log in to internet banking.
- Click ‘Cards’ in the top menu, and select ‘Activate card’.
- Select the relevant card and click ‘Activate card’.
- Click ‘Confirm’ to reactivate your card. We’ll send an SMS to your phone so your card can’t be activated by anyone else. Hit ‘Get SMS’ and check your phone.
- Enter the SMS code and click ‘Done’.

Call us and we’ll put a temporary lock on your misplaced card – you’ll just need to let us know once you’ve found it again.
