Why is ME GO ceasing cheque services?
Cheques usage has seen significant decline with many opting for faster and safer digital payment solutions. We’re continuing to modernise our services and wanted to let you know about the next stage of changes to cheques.
What does the change for Cheque Deposits mean?
You may be able to deposit certain cheques via the Bank@Post™ services using your Visa debit card; however not all cheques can be deposited via Bank@Post™. Bank@Post™ will only accept cheques issued by participating financial institutions that currently offer cheque services. To find out if a cheque can be deposited via Bank@Post™ please contact the issuer of the cheque.
Please note that cheques made payable to joint names cannot be accepted at Bank@Post™.
However, BOQ issued bank cheques presented for deposit into a MEGo Bank account will continue to be accepted.
Alternative ways to pay
The ‘Pay Anyone’ feature allows you to send payments using a PayID or BSB and account number in your internet banking or in the ME Go app.
- Direct Debit Payments
You set up a direct debit request with a business, using your BSB and account number. This enables them to automatically withdraw money from your account on a scheduled basis. Many utility suppliers like gas, water and electricity companies provide this option to pay your bills.
Please note, available payment options vary based on your product. Fees may apply to certain payments; please refer to the ME Go Deposit Products Interest rates, transaction limits, fees & charges booklet, located at
